The Begining of the Bobalian Empire is here!

Wha is this empire you say? Well you shall meet the wrath of my dynasty soon! Bob am I, and I will conquer the land of Chicken Patee. Speling errors are not a concern to me! All that matters is domination of food and drink. I harm chicken fingers and kill pork chops! All food beware! check out the blog bernibirkner.blogspot.com to save your pop-sicles.

Violent Video Games Report

How violent Video Games Affect the Lives of Children of Today

Most children in today’s world play violent video games. Some people don’t seem to think this has a ton of effect on anything. Other people seem to think that these games will lead to this world’s downfall. I’m not sure who is right. So lets look at the facts. Obviously these games that kids play are encouraging people that killing people is simply an activity to pass the time. I think we all can agree that this is just wrong. Some people are annoyed that anyone would criticize the games they play. They don’t want people telling them what to do. However when you really think about it, these people against these games are being nice by reminding the future generation that they are simply encouraging people to go shoot down pedestrians. The St, Petersburg Times reports that the video game Resident Evil 4 is one of the most popular of the past year, with 3-million copies sold worldwide. Here are a couple of things players of the Mature-rated game see:
- When the main character shoots people in the right spot, their heads shatter like a pumpkin pinata.
- A deranged man wearing a brown bag over his head lops your character's head off with a chainsaw, spraying blood everywhere as the screen fades to black.
(Unfortunately for you, I cannot list any more gross images as I am now eating Jell-O and would rather not be grossed out.)
Many people argue that these types of images are bad for children and teenagers alike. This makes sense considering that younger children would most likely be scared of such violent images and themes. If younger children aren’t extremely scared by these things, then chances are they consider violent things like these as normal. If this is indeed the case, then they are probably going to be more inclined to commit such acts themselves. For those of you who think this is not the reason for the increased amount of teen violence in this world, think about this. Up until children reach around the age of 13 (or even later as this statistic varies according to everyone’s different rate of maturity) they are heavily influenced by everything they see. So if a ten year old is constantly playing video games involving slicing people in half or shooting people just for the sake of gaining points to win some stupid prize, what are the chances that they will not be tempted to commit such acts of violence themselves? Not good. So then it really comes down parental decision. If parents are not going to give their best effort to stop their children from playing these games, then the next generation may never feel safe. So if you want to be able to walk down the street 20 years from now and not have to wear a bullet proof suit to feel mildly secure, you need to stop your kids (or yourself) from playing these violent games.

BE PREPARED!!!

Have fear! The next entry I post will be a report that I had to do for school and was required to post on this Blog. This is because this odd and weird blog-thingy was originaly a school project. Be informed that this report does not include humor or weird thoughts like my prevous entries. Don't worry, my randomthoughts will return to print later.
